Elizabeth River Tunnels operated by Elizabeth River Crossings working in Norfolk which floods during a simple summer shower and this is going to happen my first week...
Time to play the “new guy” card

What will you be doing there? The tunnels are electronically tolled, so no booths, right?

I’m part of the team that monitors the traffic flow, cameras, and most importantly - the overheight detection systems. Last thing we need is a lightning strike, sensors knocked out, and a trucker trying to capitalize on the lack of traffic running through the tunnel overheight.
But as far as tolling yes, that’s all automated.

I can't tell you how many times I drove through those tunnels. But that was back in the day, when they still had toll booths. Are you at the Midtown Tunnel? I used to live in Ghent. I remember Hurricane Diana back in 84 (85?) when the whole area around the Norfolk side of the MTT was under water.
